In 2005, Jessica Licona made the decision to change career paths in search of a more fulfilling occupation. “I had been working in advertising, and realized that for me, the type of work I was doing was not rewarding,” Licona says. “I couldn’t actually experience the product I was selling, whereas real estate allows me to use all my senses.”
Licona, who lived in Chicago at the time, got her license and began selling. Today, she is the lead Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and founder of the Licona Team of Keller Williams Realty.
“Not only did I adore the architectural style and details of the homes and properties I was selling, but I also enjoyed working with people and seeing them through the full process of buying or selling,” she says.
A graduate of the University of Texas, Licona soon found herself wanting to get back to her Texas roots, and she relocated to Austin in 2009. Currently, she operates under a team concept and assists clients in Chicago, Austin and beyond. “My team and I can work with clients anywhere in the nation and world, for that matter,” Licona says. “I have built a team that consists of myself as the listing agent specialist, buyer’s agent, administrative support, tech support and marketing specialist.”
When it comes to her career as a REALTOR, Licona says her favorite part is helping her clients meet their goal, whether it’s to buy, sell or invest in a property. “I have so enjoyed making someone’s dreams a reality and have coached clients through becoming investors and using real estate as a retirement vehicle,” she says.
For REALTORS starting out in their career, Licona recommends to “learn the market, communicate with clients and follow your passion.”
This mentality has brought the Licona Team great success over the years. “When I started out as a single agent, I had a goal of becoming the No. 1 REALTOR in my office and to enter into the Luxury real estate market,” Licona says. “Today, not only have we become the No. 1 team in our Keller Williams office for a handful of years now, but I also got certified years ago as a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist.”
Licona’s team ensures they strive to have a 100 percent “say-do” ratio. “To be successful, my goal is to always follow-up and follow through,” she says.
