Over the past 40 years, M/I Homes has built more than 100,000 new homes across the U.S. Committed to building quality homes with innovative designs, M/I Homes is dedicated to providing an unparalleled building experience for its customers.

“We truly live by one of our company founder’s mantra of ‘treating the customer right,’” says Bill Peckman, Austin area president for M/I Homes. “I take customer satisfaction seriously and ingrain that core value in my local team.”

Since its founding in Columbus, Ohio, in 1976, M/I Homes has expanded into 15 markets across the U.S. In 2010, M/I Homes entered the Texas market, and the Austin office was started in 2012. “We build in all of the major submarkets in Austin including Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander, Dripping Springs, Bee Cave, Buda, Round Rock and Southeast Austin,” Peckman says.

In addition to its current communities, such as Paloma Lake, Goodnight Ranch and White Oak Preserve, M/I Homes will begin building in new developments throughout the Austin area. “In early 2018, we will begin selling in Carmel Creek, our first community in Hutto,” Peckman says. “Additionally, we will begin building our model home at the Cottages at Belterra in January, and we will soon be developing a site in South Austin called Bear Creek Crossing.”

With home prices ranging from $250,000 to over $500,000, every M/I Homes property comes with above standard features. “When we started the division in 2012, we made a decision to make sure that our customers didn’t feel like they were nickeled and dimed over adding features that they felt should already be included in their homes,” Peckman says. “We hear from our buyers that when they start to look beyond the base price of the home and research the cost of their design selections there is no comparison. Our buyers can expect to pay less than $25,000 in design center options.”

M/I Homes provides buyers with valuable resources to assist throughout the building process. Each buyer will work with a new home consultant and construction supervisor through regular check-in meetings at the homesite, as well as weekly status updates via phone and email.

M/I Homes also has a design center, lender from M/I Financial and a title company with M/I Title. “We make it easy on our customers to purchase a home with us,” Peckman says. “From start to finish, our customers are working directly with an M/I Homes employee, making the process much more seamless and easy on them.”

In addition to feature-rich homes, M/I Homes is focused on building homes that accommodate the various needs of its residents. “We have a home for just about everybody,” Peckman says. “We cater to families, empty nesters, singles with kids and singles without kids.”

Currently, M/I Homes offers five different series of home designs, with two more coming next year. “We are always looking at what our customers want in their new homes and making tweaks to make sure we have homes that live how Austinites live,” Peckman says.

Examples of home features include large covered back patios, game rooms, media rooms, flex spaces, studies and dens, Texas-sized garages, custom made cabinets, tankless water heaters, whole home granite countertops and many more. “If you’re interested in learning more about M/I Homes and our customization opportunities, I invite you to join our Friday morning design center preview to see just how many options we have and how many of our options we include in our base price,” Peckman says.  RL
